The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program is operated by the Internal Revenue Service (IRA). VITA sites offer free tax help to people who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns, including people who generally make $70,000 or less, persons with disabilities; and limited English-speaking taxpayers.

Do I Qualify for Free Tax Help?

To qualify for free tax help, your household income (total wages and earnings of both spouses) must be $70,000 or less. Our VITA volunteers are certified to prepare basic tax returns and are waiting to serve you! For more information, dial 211.

If you have income that free tax sites will not prepare, you do not qualify for free tax preparation services. Try Free File online and prepare your own tax return for free.

How does it work?

All you have to do is bring your documentation into a FREE tax preparation site and we’ll get you started, answer your questions and help you file your own tax return. You’ll have access to free tax software that will build your confidence in preparing your own return.
